there shouldn't be nested /portals/0/portals/0 in your path, this is an issue.

fine to say i have an issue, but i have no idea what to do. I can get them working but i have to create a user folder (the nested ones your are talking about) then put thier avatar in it, it is very clunky. I am at a complete loss. When someone registers, after they have been given access, they are asked to upload an image for thier profile, and i have no idea on how to control where it goes or what to do so it just works. absolutely baffled as i have tried everything. Regards...... Frustrated

BTW the actual path is root/portals/0/users/009/09/9 (for example of user id 9)

Daniel, unfortunately I have no clue, what is going wrong - I haven't tried avatars with DNN 5.6. The strange nesting of users folders is design, though I don't know the intention, I assume it should segment users folders but doesn't look to do this in a professional manner.

Yeah i am not sure, i never had this issue with the last version, i will just have to muddle through it as i am doing, until someone comes up with an answer. sometimes the best development is to leave it alone (if it doesnt need fixing dont tough it) but anyway. If you hear anything let me know
