CAPTCHA shouldn't be on by default, but if it got turned on, you should be able to turn it off again in the User Settings.  Go to the User Accounts page under the Admin page (or the Users link from the Admin section of the control panel).  From there, you can use the action menu (typically an arrow in the upper left corner and/or links along the bottom right) to go to User Settings.  On that page, there are settings for "Use CAPTCHA For Associating Logins" and "Use CAPTCHA For Registration."

Hope that helps,

enter Extensions in Admin (!) menu and edit DNN Authentication. there is a setting where you may diable captcha for user login control.

I am also trying to remove the CAPTCHA from the login dialogue, but keep it on the registration form.

I have unchecked the "Use CAPTCHA For Associating Logins" box and I have checked "Use CAPTCHA For Registration" box under Admin > Site Settings > User Account Settings.

I went to Admin > Extensions > DNN Default Authentication and unchecked the "Use Captcha?" box as instructed above. However, when I click on the "Update Authentication Settings" button to save this change, and come back to these Authentication settings, the "Use Captcha?" box is checked once again. So I uncheck it, click the "Update Authentication Settings" button again to save the change, the page refreshes, I go back into these Authentication settings again, and the "Use Captcha?" box is checked yet again. no matter how many times I try to save the unchecked box, it is always checked again when I go back in.

I am on DNN v7.3.4. Is this a bug? Is the fact that I have the "Use CAPTCHA For Registration" box check overriding the option to disable it on the Login dialogue?

Is there some other workaround that would enable me to remove the CAPTCHA from the Login dialogue but not the registration form?

This has become a big problem for my company. Assistance would be appreciated.
