Dear All, I wouldn't say I'm the most technical person around, but I've had some 20 years experience in and around the IT industry and have single-handedly developed my corporate web site www.caprese.org with Dreamweaver (standard HTML plus a couple of spry thingies) and the interactive bit www.caprese.org/ci with DNN hosted on GoDaddy. The current version of DNN is 5.5.1, but I was experiencing the problem with an earlier version (5.1 I think).
Anyway, here's what I've done: I created a page called Messaging and added the Messaging module to it in the Content Pane. I have made sure that all users have View and Edit access.
And here's what happens: In View and Edit mode, as SuperUser, I can't see the module. In Layout mode, I can see the location of the module with its title and header, but nothing else. As a standard user in View and Edit modes, I can't see anything.
However, if I log out I can see the Messaging Module and compose a message.
If anyone wishes to investigate, I have created a user called "test" password="testuser"

I would be grateful for any ideas.

Kind regards,

Eli De Friend

do not grant access to anonymous users. Host users might not have access without a portal profile (they usually don't have).

Hi Sebastian, I have unchecked the "All Users" box in the Messaging module and checked the View and Edit boxes for Registered Users. This has certainly disabled the access to the module for anonymous users, but has not had any effect to allow access to registered users. So I still need some more ideas. One thing I noticed is that the Messaging module is one of the rare modules listed that does not have an "X" beside it allowing the SuperUser to delete it, which means that is provided by default. By the way, it is listed as being version 1.1.0 Best regards, Eli
