Hi Joe, thansk for replying.
There is only one alias showing (which I expected) and that is www.julianhorn.net there is NO trailing slash.
I can try adding one to the alias table if you think its worth trying?

Hi,
I have 3 portals and 1 alias for each.  My portal aliases look just like the following, no trailing /  - it's a test site, so I'm using the subdomains of the main domain.

inm.mydomain.com
mydomain.com
vet.mydomain.com

All the domains fail and then hitting the return to site button, display like: mydomain.com/Default.aspx

Thanks Joe, that's it!
In the portal alias table there was only one entry as expected which was the domain www.julianhorn.net with no trailing /
Nothing ventured, nothing gained thinks I so I added one to the entry.
Site now works!
I guess if I add a new alias (which I intend to once I have built the site, I will need to add a trailing slash to that?
Thanks again and Seasonal Best Wishes to everyone at DNN
Julian

It is because it does not know the TabId for the page, and related to the GetDomainName method. See this post:
