Hi,
I would be extremely grateful if somebody could give me a hint on this as it's been bothering me for months and though I have done excessive testing I haven't figured our (or even came close to figuring out) to what the problem is.
The modules I am using is UltraVideoGallery, XMOD, XMOD PRO, CISS SideMENU, CISS Tabs (for RSS) and Snapsis PageBlaster (of which most function have been deactivated as it has caused numerous problems...)

My website is using DNN 5.5.1 but it's quite large both in size, pages and visits (about 13.000 visits/day).
Personally I haven't come across any DNN site with such number of visits and I am not even sure that this causes the problem (If you have please let me know!)

The problem is that the website deadlocks randomly some times! I have to contact my hosting company and ask them to reset the pool in order for the site to restart and function again. The problem is that the deadlocks happen at any time without any specific errors in the log file. The site could be running properly for a week and suddenly one day it will crash. The pool then will be reset and everything will be ok. Next day could be running ok. After that it could crash again, be restarted and in 10 minutes crash again - restarted - and in an hour crash again. This could happen for a while and then everything will return to normal for 3 or 5 or 6 days and then the same again.
The thing is that it doesn't have any pattern and I can't find any indication as to what is causing the problem!

If you have ANY ideas I would be really grateful if you  give me a hint!

we've recently found some race conditions in the code that can happen under heavy load - these usually show up as "index out of bound" errors in the admin->event log, please check this. We've resolved these for 5.6.0

Hi Cathal and thank you for your reply.
I am afraid that there are no errors like that on my event log. Also, by monitoring the website with my hosting company we haven't seen any race conditions as the CPU is kept at around 20% usage so that doesn't seem to be the issue.
I will upgrade my version to 5.6 sometime today though but I don't believe that this will resolve my issue.
Any other ideas?
thanks

the race condition doesn't affect performance, it only affects the potential contents of objects. As to what to check, I'd suggest that the next time it happens you take a memory dump and use windbg to examine it -i'd recommend the psscor2 extension so you can examine the dump, start out by checking for exceptions i.e. !dae

We did revert back from dnn version 5.5.x to dnn 5.4.1 since we had similar problems. Not the amount of visitors, but strange deadlocks and site hanging after a while. We are finally on dnn 5.6.0. But take notice that we have activated ifinity module since dnn urlrewrite has problems in dnn 5.6.0 so that images are not rendered and/or 404 errors appear. So first do a good beta.
