Hello World,

My localhost installation is not rendering in my Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox browser. All had been working well for days. This happened the moment I
defragmented my localhost drive ( "C:" drive). All database information content etc. is in tact. When the website is opened  (Visual web Developer Express) the following message appears in my browser:

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:51694"

The installation was downloaded and installed via the Web Platform Installer, Auto Install.

5.5.1 running on localhost /Framework 3.5/ SOL Server Express 2008 / Windows 7 Home Edition.

Help?

Happy New Year!

Michael;
Are you running AVG on your machine and is it active when you see this message?
There have been other reports that AVG blocks Cassini web server.
This isn't an issue with DNN you have somehow caused the Cassini web server within VS Web Dev to not connect

Hi Ken,

Thank you for your reply. I am running Windows Defender (no AVG) for anti-virus protection and iis. Yes something is blocking the rendering of the website. I notice when I log on to localhost and get said error message the installation always dumps a "offline file" in the trash.

Thank you,
Michael
