I created a custom module with some text boxes and a cmdButton which is a "submit" button. When a user clicks Enter after typing in text DNN brings up another window, showing a printmode version of the page, instead of handling the submit button.

What is the correct way in a custom DNN module to make a command button be the default button that handles the [ENTER] key being pressed and not letting the message bubble up to DNN event handler and bring up the printmode page.

Thanks,

Joseph

You can probably use the ClientAPI for this

ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(Me.txtSearch, Me.cmdSearch, Asc(vbCr))
ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(Me.txtSearchNew, Me.cmdSearchNew, Asc(vbCr))

For an example check out the admin\skins\search.ascx.vb file

Something similar to this should help.

TextBox1.Attributes.Add("onkeydown", "if(event.keyCode == 13){document.getElementById('" & cmdButton.ClientID & "').click();}")

I added this to my modules page load and it worked like a charm!

Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

Try

If Not Page.IsPostBack Then

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(

Me.txtDate1, Me.cmdSubmit, Asc(vbCr))

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(

Me.txtDate2, Me.cmdSubmit, Asc(vbCr))

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(

Me.txtPerson1, Me.cmdSubmit, Asc(vbCr))

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(

Me.txtPerson2, Me.cmdSubmit, Asc(vbCr))

End If

Catch exc As Exception

ProcessModuleLoadException(

Me, exc)

End Try

End Sub

Seriously Thanks!

This problem bothered me for  a long time!!!

Thanks to all for replying!

Joseph
