My organization is looking for a full blown LMS system we want to run on DNN. There are basically 3 choices.

1. Netlearn LMS eLearning System - Online Training & Education v3.2.2
2. Accord LMS - SCORM eLearning Solution 2.4
3. Engage: Campus LMS 2.8

I can't find any user reviews of any of these. It is hard to make a choice when nobody else had tried them. I assume that they aren't in wide spread use because they are so expensive.

Does anyone have experience with any of these LMS systems?

Thanks.

I was going to let this thread go for someone else to reply, but since no one has I figured I would offer up my experience.

I've used Engage: Campus quite a bit, considering I was an employee with Engage for 5+ years though that isn't surprising. I don't have experiences with the other LMS systems, but I do know that Engage Campus can do a lot of things and provides a format for creating courses that is very flexible and doesn't require HTML or even DotNetNuke knowledge.

Hi, Kelly;
I have been working with Interzoic Media to build their customer base for Accord LMS since early 2009.  I only represent companies who have a great product and superior support.  Interzoic Media maintains comprehensive user documentation and up-to-date video tutorials.  Their support team is the most responsive and helpful in the business.

Since its launch in June 2009, Accord LMS is evolving rapidly in response to customer requests and new customers are coming on board in increasing numbers each month.

Testimonials can be found at:

and

Customer references are available upon request.

A free public demo LMS portal is always available - http://demo.accordlms.com/  - and evaluations in your own environment are fully supported.

I have already e-mailed you in response to your download of the Accord LMS module a few days ago.  I look forward to answering any questions.

Thanks for the replies.

@Jim. I looked into the accord LMS and was impressed with it. I watched the videos and messed around with the trial. It all looked really good. The main deal breaker was that they did not offer a license that included source code. We have an IS staff but don't want to dedicate those resources to developing an LMS, so a DNN module was the solution. Without being able to access the source of the module our hands are tied and the destiny of our LMS program is in the hands of Accord, so it was just not an option.

@Chris. I never really got to see the Engage campus. They don't offer source code, no trial install version, licensing isn't clear and you have to schedule a demo...it was just not appealing.

Netlearn LMS was our only real solution, but we have decided not to do an LMS. We have since decided to go to a different platform as far as user content and training goes. We are still working out the details. Thanks for the replies!

Hi Kelly,

You are correct; the source code for the Accord LMS is not for sale. However it is available via Software Escrow in case we can no longer support the product for unforeseen reasons.

We do provide an extensive API for all of the LMS Manager module services so that you can present and launch the Learning Content via any custom Learner UI or application that you may want to build. Soon we will support Template/Token layout for the Learning Event Catalog Tree Grid. This will allow for very customized layout presentations. Any SCORM compliant LMS is a complex undertaking that requires expertise to create and enhance. We have over 20 man years into the Accord and have many exciting features on the road map such as support for Distribution Channels across multiple portals, federated catalogs and Amazon S3 storage.

The focus of our entire company, which includes 4 programmers, is on LMS development. If a client were to buy the source and create a branch of the software, they would not benefit from our ongoing development. If you have specific needs that are not met in the current release, we offer Prioritized Development at $40/hour which is far less than your own in house resources would cost.

The Accord has been designed from the ground up to support both SCORM and integrate other DNN Modules such as Social Media.  You can even create Learning Events utilizing remote resources.  All of this allows the Accord to utilized the entire suite of DNN applications for your learning portals.  With other LMS you will be tied to a monolithic applications and have to pay whatever they want to charge to their version of forums, or mentor chat.  The more you evaluate the Accord LMS on the DNN platform, you'll find that it is one of the most robust, extensible and cost effective platforms in the LMS industry.

Please check our price list for more information on Software Escrow. Larger clients with similar concerns have taken that option.

Thanks,
Chris
