Hiya,

Can anyone help me with the newsletter please? I'm trying to send newletters but they are not sending. Is there a restriction with the send address? Or do I need to tweak a setting in host or portal config? Or do I need my server host to configure something on the server?
I've tried asnyc mode, with no emails. I've just tried sync mode and it's hung for the last 10mins - I'm only sending to a test role with 1 test user assigned.

Thanks
Susie

Do you have SMTP configured properly on the host settings page? Can you send an email from the test on the Host Settings SMTP Section?

Is anybody else using this module for the purpose of just sending simple emails out to your roles? I am having the exact same problem and am not sure what the issue is. Sending a TEST message works in the SMTP Configuration, so I'm not sure what is going on.

Does anybody know of a better module for this purpose?

I am experiencing the exact same problem.  Once I send the message out, the only email that goes through is a SMTP Configuration Test email to the administrator, which is clearly a bug.  I also notice that when trying to send out, the wp3.exe process gets up to 100% usage and needs to be killed and restarted for the server to respond.

Any ideas?

What version of DotNetNuke are you using? I recall that there was an issue with the regular expression used to detect if the email was plain text or HTML that would cause the wp3.exe process to go to 100% and/or emails fail to be sent. I believe that it was corrected in 5.05.01 but would recommend upgrading to 5.06.01 due to its fix for several other issues including some critical ones that are security related.
