Hi there

I have an ASCX control created as a VS Web application project, set up within the DotNetNuke DesktopModules folder of my development web server. I'm wondering how web.config inheritance is supposed to work. For example, is it really necessary for me to define the prefix of each and every third party  control type, e.g., ajax:, telerik: either in every ascx file or in a local version of web.config, for every ASCX module that I create. I'm thinking I should be able to define said prefixes in the section of the root web.config file of the DNN site itself, and then have all web application projects set up within the site inherit the controls, and indeed any other settings from that config file, rather than duplicating such settings over and over in each separate web application project. Is this what is supposed to be happening, as it isn't at the moment!

If so, how should a WAP be configured to facilitate such inheritance of settings?

Thanks for any guidance about this ....
