Hi

I am trying to create and save a simple template that can be used to create a table in either a html module or in the blog. The purpose of the template is to stop having to re-create a table each time I add a new blog entry or alternatively to create a nice standard table that other users can insert then add content as desired.

I have tried to save the template as a htmtemplate (added that extension to settings as appropriate) however could not view in Template Manager.

I have also tried creating a html file and posting via ftp, but I am unsure which folder location to post the html file.

Questions:

Is this the right way to be going about this?

Where are the templates saved and accessed?

If there are any tips for young players for using the template manager appreciate your advice or direction to info.

thanks

Miles

it needs to be htmtemplate for the template manager - see the wiki http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/tabid/1409/Page/Telerik-Customization/Default.aspx

Hi Cathal

I looked at wiki ref you provided and assume you mean that I have to make htmtemplate an allowable file extension in the host. Per the wiki that advises: "Check that htmtemplate is in the host settings for allowed file types. This is required to enable the templates feature."

I had already added htmtemplate but still when I seek to save a template, it advise that htmtemplate is successfully saved however no template appears in the template manager or can be viewed in ftp.

Do you have any suggestions as what my be the issue?

thanks

Miles

no idea I'm afraid (it's not an area I've used) - you can raise a bug at support.dotnetnuke.com (i had a quick look and can't see it). However, it may be worth checking out http://radeditor.codeplex.com/ to see if that works (it's being added to the core in 5.6.0)
