Hi Deni,

Let me give you some information on that "Yellow Screen of Death" as it is sometimes called. You will see it when a critical error has occurred and your web application has stopped functionning. This screen *should* give you the error message that allows us to resolve the issue but under normal circumstances it will not do that. Visitors to your website may learn information about your site settings that you do not want everybody to know.

Therefore, your site comes with a default installation to show the error to somebody who visits the site locally (from the server running the application) but not to visitors over the network/internet. This is controlled by the setting customErrors in the web.config file. This setting is ideal when you can log in to the server running the IIS but is a problem in a hosted solution: in a hosted solution you will not see the error details. That is because customErrors has a value RemoteOnly in your web.config file.

So, if you edit your web.config file and do a search for customErrors, and change the value "RemoteOnly" into "Off" and save the web.config file, when you go to your website, you will see the same Yellow Screen Of Death, but now it will display the error message. Only when you see that error message can you determine if two problems are the same. It is that error message that you should post here to get support on the issue.

There are many causes that can lead to the YSOD. You need that message that is hidden for normal visitors to tell.

Anyone... ? I would have presumed the best place for help would have been the developers/engineers/testers who designed the system..?

Seány,

I haven't seen that particular error before but it appear related to a Code Access Security (CAS) violation when processing a LINQ expression which needs ReflectionPermission (or more specifically RestrictedMemberAccess). DotNetNuke should be able to be run under Medium Trust provided that that the policy file for Medium Trust has been modified to include RestrictedMemberAccess. Please see this MSDN article for more information:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libra...

Look specifically in the section LINQ and Code Access Security - Using LINQ with Medium Trust

Also, in the future when posting, you are more likely to get a response to your question if you start a new thread rather than add onto an existing thread that may or may not be closely related to your particular issue.
