What exactly are you trying to achieve - if you have set the passwords in you system to be encrypted that encryption is handled by the asp membership provider using the key stored in your web.config - however if I recall its a one way encryption,

Having said that - you dont actually need the password to log a user on using the api - if you just want to force a user to log on to a DNN site
all you need to do is call the UserLogin method of the UserController.

   UserController.UserLogin(PortalId, objUser, PortalSettings.PortalName, AuthenticationLoginBase.GetIPAddress(), chkCookie.Checked)
