If you do a Google search for ChilikatDotNet2 you will find many items reference the problems of running this assembly under Medium trust including this one from ChiliKat: http://www.chilkatsoft.com/p/p_268.asp

The error that you received after removing the ChilikatDotNet2 looks like one that is received after upgrading DotNetNuke to 5.03.00 without first upgrading the Xml module to the latest release and/or un-installing the Chat module. Did you upgrade or are you still on 4.09.03 ?

Hi Bill,

I did some online study on ChilkatDotNet2.dll even before the earlier post. The ChilkatSoft.com site suggest modifying the web_mediumtrust.config file located at the Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.****\CONFIG folder.

Most other forums did not help me with this. Further online studies revealed that GoDaddy do not provide help on this. However, with least hope, I wrote to GoDaddy regarding this and below is what they say. Just what I expected from GoDaddy.

"The trust level cannot be managed using a custom web.config file when using our shared hosting plans. Currently only Windows-hosting plans running IIS 6 and ASP.NET 1.1 will support Full Trust. If your applications requires a Full Trust environment with your current hosting configuration it will not be supported on our servers.

Please note, our Windows hosting supports ASP.NET application DLLs only. Further, DLLs that require registration with IIS are disallowed. DLLs must be uploaded to a bin directory within an application root on your hosting account.
"

I know that GoDaddy is not a good place for DNN. However, with the current limitations, I need to place this site somehow there, even if I have to drop the module that ChilkatDotNet2 uses. I have now written to ChilkaSoft support. Fingers crossed to get some light from them.

Many Thanks,
Gipson
