I am in the process of moving the internal hosted DNN site from the company servers into a hosting company servers.

I backuped up the SQL DB and restored it on the host company
I copied the DNN files from the internal webserver and transfered it to the host using FTP and successfully put it in the web directory.

But I cannot get the site going, Im guessing I need to edit the web.config but what stuff do I need to edit in that? the sql database connection string?

you need to adopt both uncommented connection strings inside web.config as well as adding your new site address as into portalalias table in the database.

I'm having a similar problem but in reverse - setting up a local copy of my production site. I believe I've done everything that's necessary (see my post

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F... ) but I'm still unable to pull up the site on my local machine. Any advice?  Joan
