I'm trying to build DNN for the first time using the community edition of the source code.  I am using VS 2010.  I continue to get the error "Default parameter specifiers are not permitted."  Given that 2010 should support this, I'm at a total loss as to what to do.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brad

Are you trying to build the C# port of DotNetNuke from its separate CodePlex project? I don't see why you'd be getting that error while compiling the DotNetNuke Community source package solution all of which is in VB (with the exception of the LiveID and OpenID authentication provider projects which are not really part of the source package.

Default parameters have been available in VB for as long as I can recall but did not get introduced into C# until C# 4.0 compiler which was included with VS 2010. I believe that you need to specify the C# v 4.0 compiler in the solution or C# project's property pages if it is not your default C# compiler.
