i have installed 05.06.01, and created a single portal today and have a problem with file manager. i have seen similar problems in the forums but none so far with an answer!!!

the problem is that can add folders in file manager but only at the root level. i can create IMAGES but i cannot create IMAGES\COMMON. if i highlight IMAGES then all the options key (e.g. create folder / upload file) are all greyed out. there are no error messages or warnings. i have multiple test systems where this isn't an issue.

i am sure that this is an NTFS permissions issue but i have repropogagted all the NTFS permissions from the application root, to no effect. I cannot see what the issue is, if i can create IMAGES what can stop me creating a sub folder in that new folder (especailly if i have propogated it's security settings).

Any help please

there were some very odd things going on with this install.

I tried to Sync the files and folders and this meant i could edit the core folders (e.g. Templates) but there were two 'images' folders in the tree, neither of which you could edit.

To fix this i

1) deleted the pyshical folder from the portal root
2) deleted the reference in the Folders table in the database.

i think there was a disconnect between the folder in the database and the phyical folder.

no idea how it happend but this fixed it.
