Hello all.
Out site is a non-profit and very open.   Although we require registration for events, this is only for event planning purposes. We want to take anyone's money from out store catalog,  :) Therefore, we don't want to force a registration or login to be able to checkout.  We use PayPal and get card info through the PayPal checkout, so there is no need for registration or login.

We are on DNN 4.9.

Is this possible?

Thanks so much.

Hi David,

This is one of the numerous new features added in the last versions, please download and install the last version 02.01.51 at Codeplex. In the Store Admin module you will found a new setting 'Checkout Mode', they are three modes:

  • Registration Required - Works as before, an account is required to chekout
  • User Choice - The Store Account module display a message and the user can login with an account then checkout or checkout without an account
  • Always Anonymous - The Store Account module display directly the billing and shipping addresses step

When you define the setting to 'User Choice' or 'Always Anonymous', you have to select an impersonated account. You have to create a 'common' user account used to track your orders in the Store Admin module and select this account in the dropdown list.
The best choice is to use 'User Choice', this allow your users to choose if they want to create an account to be able to follow order status and order history.
The Store module require DNN 4.6.2 or higher version, then you can use it with DNN 4.9! :-)

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Giles.
Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly.  This is exactly the information I need an the results I was hoping for.  I do not run our site but I will contact the host today.   As I said we are currently on DNN 4.9 but the hosting site has announced they are upgrading this year to 5.x.  I'll try yo have them update the store a little sooner.

Thanks again.

David
