Hi,

Many parts of our site are now broken after the 5.61 upgrade. The site loads fine, and regular links and pages work. But for some reason, any link or image link that has the __dopostback no longer works and there is a javascript error. For example:

__doPostBack('dnn$ctr$ManageUsers$cmdCancel$ctl01','')

...does not do anything and there is an error. The IE8 error message is:

Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
Details: Error parsing near '<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLI'.
Line: 5
Char: 62099
Code: 0

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be or where to start looking?

Thanks,

Steve

OK. I did find a few dopostback links that work. But many do not work and I just do not understand why a few work, but others do not, like the cancel link on the registration page.

I found this also in the debug window of FireFox...

Type.registerNamespace('Sys.WebForms');Sys.WebForms.Res={"PRM_UnknownToken":"Unknown token: \u0027{0}\u0027.","PRM_MissingPanel":"Could not find UpdatePanel with ID \u0027{0}\u0027. If it is being updated dynamically then it must be inside another UpdatePanel.","PRM_ServerError":"An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: {0}","PRM_ParserError":"The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.\r\nDetails: {0}","PRM_TimeoutError":"The server request timed out.","PRM_ParserErrorDetails":"Error parsing near \u0027{0}\u0027.","PRM_CannotRegisterTwice":"The PageRequestManager cannot be initialized more than once."};
if(typeof(Sys)!=='undefined')Sys.Application.notifyScriptLoaded();

did you try disabling compression in Host settings, there have been a number of errors reported in DNN 5.6.1 related to it.

Cheers from Germany,

Hi Sebastian,

Yes. I found http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/795/forumid/108/postid/406427/scope/posts/default.aspx and disabled the compression, and it all works again.

I spent 1/2 a day on this and a large part of our site was broken. I am so glad there was an easy solution.

Thanks!

Steve

Thank you Sebastian! I was pulling out my hair on this one and that is BAD since I don't have much left to start with! I'm glad that it was an easy fix. :-)
