Dear, Colleagues!

We have almost done new version of our new module. In the new version we have used Teleriks controls and right now module looks powerfully and very good. But there is interesting situation with installation. Some issues are expected:

1) DNN 5.6.1 uses version 2010.2.929.35 of Telerik, but we use 2010.3.1317.20. Probably it will be issue with another versions of DNN also. Do you think we have to put our own Telerik.WebUI.dll? or should use .dll from the DNN installation?

2) Another possible collision is Telerik uses different .dlls for .NET 2 and .NET 3. And it looks like right now DNN uses .dll for .NET 2. Can anyone describe why is it?

Thanks in advance for any comments!

Sergey

I strongly recommend that you use the version that DNN uses, as if you use a newer one and update the DLL you could cause conflicts with the DNN installation or other modules within the system.  What I do is when working with custom modules, I build against the minimum versions I want to support, if that is DNN 5.1.0, then I build against that and any other dll that is part of that version.  It makes things easier in my opinion.
