I might be making a problem out of something that is not a problem, I'm not sure.
I need a website that will have a number of subdomains and I want a wildcard SSL that will protect them all.

I only know how to make subdomain names in DNN that are formatted with the subdomain after the domain, like this: http://MainDomainName.com/SubDomainName. However the instructions for filling out the SSL Certificate request coach me to enter *.mainDomainName as the domain name. In this case the subdomain is before the domain. The questions are:

Is there a way to reconfigure the format of the subdomain name in DNN so that it appears in front of the domain name instead? Like http://SubdomainName.MainDomainName.com ?

Thanks everyone for reading. - Mark

yes dotnetnuke supports both child (mysite.com/child) and parent (parent.mysiute.com) portals - in our teminology we refer to them as parent portals - you just create portal aliases as you would normally. However with parent portals you also need to add entries into IIS so it it aware of the site - these are called host headers in IIS. If you already have a domain you wish to use as a parent portal, log in as admin and to admin->site settings expand advanced and add you portal alias (in dotnetnuke this means that a particular portal will respond to a request from that URL). Alterntively you can log in as host and do this via host->portals
