Hi,
I have copied db to new location on the same sql server, later I have copied all the files and changed the appriopriate connection strings - I checked they are all right. I also assigned proper alias to my new site. However when I navigate to this site I get 'The site is under construction'. I guess there may be numerous reasons for that. Any ides where can I find the proper error message?

Did you check IIS to make sure that the website is now pointed to the new directory?

The "under construction" page is an indication when AutoUpgrade is disabled in the web.config that there is still an error in the connection strings or that there is some other reason that the database is not accessible.

1. Please post the entire <connectionStrings> section and the start of the <appSettings> section (down through <add key="InstallTemplate" . . ./>  from your web.config file. Be sure to replace any database usernames and passwords with "xxxxx" when posting to this public forum.

2. Was the site before the move using the App_Data/Database.mdf user instance database file or a database that you had created as part of the earlier install?

3. Which edition of MS SQL Server are you using?

4. When you said that you "moved the db", please describe how that was done.

5. If you wre using the App_Data/Database.mdf file, did you attach to it using MS SQL Server Management Studio or Visual Studio at any time during or after the database move?
