Further update on issue . . .

For testing and comparison purposes, I installed a fresh copy DNN 5.6.1 on a new hosting account at GoDaddy. After installation (without dnnWerk installed) I saved a copy of web.config. I then installed dnnWerk 1.1.4. Everything worked as expected. I then saved a copy of web.config. I compared the two web.config files and there were only two additional lines added.

I then compared the web.config with dnnWerk from the newest install to the web.config from the install that is not working. Both appear to be the same (except for machine specific entries like database names, etc).

Another observation is broken images on the dnnWerk configuration page. The help.png images (question marks) are not being displayed, rather the "broken window" image is. This makes me wonder if there is some form of path issue.

I did confirm that if I save a copy of the configuration file (i.e. host or admin) that it is being written to the file system and it appears to be in the correct location.

I am perplexed at this point and not sure how to resolve this issue.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Roger

For starters, if you have not already done so, turn of Compression in Host Settings. There is a major bug in dnn 5.6.1 that causes all sorts of problems in strange areas. Secondly, I would not recommend that anyone use godaddy for hosting a DNN website. There have been many reports of issues with hosting all sorts of asp.net based applications on that hosting platform. Westa

Wes:

Thank you for your reply, I am sorry for the late reply.

I verified that Compression is turned off.

Also, this site is NOT on GoDaddy. I only created a GoDaddy account for the ease of setting up a 5.6.1 environment quickly to see if dnnWerk installed correctly on a seperate account - and it did.

So, I am back to square one where dnnWerk is not working as previously described. I need to find a solution to this problem and hopefully you or someone else on this thread or someone from dnnWerk can provide some assistance.

Thank you again for the suggestion.
Roger
