I am trying to move my local dotnetnuke 5.01 version installation to my production server.
I uploaded all files to my production server's root folder.
created a sql script file of the database(sql server 2005 express) and ran this file in the
production database server(my little admin 2005) to copy all database contents to a new
production server database file.then updated the web.config file to point to that
database server also added my domain as http aliases in dnn site settings.
but when i run my production site it shows server error....??? please help.

Without seeing the actually error - its a bit hard to tell what you are seeing.
But for starters I would check that the production server has its folder permissions set correctly.

I would maybe try doing a clean dnn install on the production server first to verify that the server is correctly configured.

You should see the windows server logs to find the cause for the The '500 - Internal server error' (this is just a generic error message)
