Daniel and Lyle,

I had a few extra minutes just now so did a clean test install of DNN 4.09.01 and installed Documents 4.01.00 then 4.01.01 and was presented with the same error you both received. I'll dig into this a bit further tonight but suspect that Documents 4.01.01 was compiled against a version of DotNetNuke LATER than 4.09.01 which would cause this type of error for those installing it on a version of DotNetNuke earlier than the version against which Documents was compiled. I rechecked the downloads page to confirm that Documents 4.01.01 should be compatible with DotNetNuke version 4.06.02 and later. There were no specific release notes for Documents 4.01.01 showing minimum DotNetNuke version but looking at the manifest file the installer would install it without complaint in 4.06.00 and later.

I couldn't get back to work on other project until I checked . . .

Documents 4.01.01 was compiled against DotNetNuke version 4.09.05 and would NOT be compatible with any versions of DotNetNuke earlier than 4.09.05.

I'll contact the Documents project acting team lead who prepared the 4.01.01 release to advise him of the issue.

Hi William

Thank you VERY much for those informations. I really appreciate your help. I guess i will have to update DNN to version 4.09.05 if i want my sites to run with documents modules.

Thanks again!

An upgrade to 4.09.05 is advisable anyway as it fixed a few security and other issues of the earlier versions and is a step toward an eventual upgrade to DNN 5.06.02 or later. If you do decide to upgrade be sure to make backups of both the file system and the database - just in case there is a problem.

I did chat with the acting Documents team lead. He'll look into the best resolution for this issue, possibly recompiling Documents against DNN 4.06.02 and re-releasing it.
