I tried sending a mail from may application on clicking a submit button  but the mail was not sent and the return value was not displayed. I checked the log viewer and got the error message below:

Hi,

-  do you have a smtp server/account setup correctly

- what's your server, email server, etc...

Could not access 'CDO.Message' object -- do you have the MS CDO messaging components installed on your system ?

Thanks, I have gotten the problem solved. It was the antivirus I was using that blocked the port through which the mail is routed.
