Unfortunately, there is an issue in the DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.dll file contained in any of the Documents 4.01.01 packages downloaded from CodePlex since 7 p.m. EST or so on March 9th. The acting project team lead is aware of this issue and will be taking steps to correct it as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, if you need to restore the functioning of the Documents module immediately, the DotNetNuke Community Edition 05.06.02 BETA packages available on CodePlex at

http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releas...

contain a Documents 4.01.01 install package that is not affected by this issue. You would need to:

1. Download and extract the 05.06.02 BETA install package to a local folder.
2. In the extracted package's Install/Module folder find the file Documents_04.01.01_Install.resources.
3. Rename this file to Documents_04.01.01_Install.zip
4. Navigate to your site's  the Host -->Extensions tab in DNN 5.x or the Host --> Module Definitions tab in DNN 4.9.5 and using the Install Extension or Install Module wizard install the Documents_04.01.01_Install.zip that you have obtained from the BETA package.
5. DNN will treat this as a repair installation replacing the bad assembly and other files but not running the SQL scripts.

Note in particular that the Documents package you obtain from the Community Edition 05.06.02 BETA package will be compatible with DotNetNuke versions 4.09.05 and later only and NOT with versions 4.06.02 and later. If this issue ocurred when installing the Documents 04.01.01 package obtained from Codeplex into a DotNetNuke version earlier than 4.09.05, you will either need to wait for the fixed package to become available on CodePlex.

This fixed the error. Thanks. Still did not fix the original problem I had. If you FTP files to the server the files do not display in the document module. You have to manually add them to the module even though they are FTPd to the folder the module is looking at. We have this module on 180 pages and every week 300+ docs will be uploaded. We cant possibly add each document individually. I thought this module should display everything in the folder it is pointing to? Yes I have syncd the files and have it set to do that automatically.

Renee,

At this point your requested feature is a "future request" for the module, it is something that people want, however, the implementation of it could make the module less useful for a lot of other usage scenarios.

Depending on your needs, I might know of another module that will do that for you, email me at msellers@iowacomputergurus.com if you have a moment.

Renee,

I'm happy that this "fix" worked for you. As far as I recall, the core Documents module has never supported automatic addition of items to its list of documents based on enumerating files in the "default" folder. With the addition of filtering based on file extension, etc. would be a good feature in cases such as yours. Please be sure to log this as an enhancement request inthe project's CodePlex issue tracker. You may also want to look into third-party documents modules which may have this capability.
