Using Dotnetnuke 5.6 that can only be accessed via https.
Whenever I try to track a link or access a file from a secure folder I am getting a 404 error whenever the LinkClick.aspx tries to be accessed.
I have experimented with setting the page to IsSecure =  True and IsSecure = False and neither work.  Anyone have a suggestion?

Thank You,
Stuart

Stuart did the links work before the https was turned on, or was that not possible at any point?

I would double-check the handler in the web.config file in case it has been removed or the spelling changed accidentally.

If that doesn't work it shouldn't be too hard to test out whether this is a built-in issue by setting a localhost setup to use https.

Hey Bruce,
Thanks for the suggestions.  The site since I have seen it has always been forced under HTTPS.  I will check the handler, then if that doesn't work I will bring it down to localhost and run it http and see what happens.

Thanks, hope all is well,
Stuart

Stuart,

If the site is running on IIS 7 or 7.5 in an ASP.Net 4.0 application pool, please check that the LinkClickHandler registration in the <system.webServer><handlers> section of web.config has been properly modified to remove the ASP.Net 2.0 preCondition attribute:

<add name="LinkClickHandler" path="LinkClick.aspx" verb="*" type="DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileServerHandler, DotNetNuke" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv2.0" />

the ",runtimeVersion2.0" portion of the preCondition value should be removed from all handler registrations in this section becoming:

preCondition="integratedMode"

Thanks Bill for the response.

The site is on IIS 7 using .Net 3.5.  The handler in the web.config is correct.  I am going to pull it down to my local machine and see if it is an issue with the site or IIS.

I will keep everyone posted.
