Setup the portal as the default website and otherwise by the directions. Hit the site once and the install went through perfectly. Tried to hit it again later and now it just gives Page cannot be displayed even when browsing from the machine itself (http://localhost). Security settings seem correct and I was able to hit it once to start it, default docs are set to default.aspx. IIS seems to be working fine, getting no errors in the event viewer. Even tried to  right click and browse default.aspx from within IIS with same result. I know this is gonna be something simple I am overlooking.....anyone have any ideas?

Nevermind. Found it. I had changed the ip address and didn't realize that the ip itself is an alias......doh.

Is this something we can get to? We don't really have enough information to give you any answers. If you haven't configured DNN, I'd suggest a re-install. That's only because I don't really have enough information to know what the problem is, tho.

You could have, but its not necessary anymore. Once I figured out that the ip address itself is an alias for the portal, and that by changing it I had rendered it "unbrowseable", I just put the ip address back to what it was and everything was fine. I have since figured out that I probably could have just gone into the portalalias table and changed the ip there and I am guessing it would have worked as well.

Thanks for the offer though,
