I enclose a PDF with screen prints since my description may be confusing.

I just installed DNN 5.6.2 on an empty Win 2008 server with DNN on the default website (ONLY site on server) and I have edited the Home page and it seems to work fine. I even added a copule of new pages and all is fine. Using full copy of SQL 2005 (on same server).

But when I try to install a module (any module) (Host, Module definitions,Install Module) it let MIGHT let me select module and I hit Next (or it might NOT). After long wait it gives me an IE error screen that says

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.

It looks like a DNS problem because I can quickly go to any site on Internet and ping any site while I am waiting to install.

I went to command line a did PING of my website and it responds very quickly with 4 good replys with right address.

If if it lets me select a module then dies, I try a second time it gives me that error even before I can select a module with a long pause before the error.

I have done a restart of server and even a shut down, power unplug and wait a minute and turn server back on.

Any thoughts??????

It did not give me an option to enclose the PDF, so I put the PDF on a website (NOT the site I am having troublle with)

To view note and screen prints, go to http://www.pearland.com/install_modules.pdf

A couple of questions

 - is  the web server sitting directly connected to the internet or is it behind an internal firewall (fwiw it should be)
 - are you attempting to browse to a web server that is INSIDE the same firewall / router subdomain as the computer you are browsing on.

Ok to explain:

The ip address that your give as 75.148.151.113
 - is this the physical address of the Ethernet connection of your new server ?
- or is this the physical address of the ROUTER / ADSL MODEM connection to the internet

If it is the physical address of the ROUTER - and your server is then attached to this - then you can get into some wierd issues with the way asp.net handles callback processing among other things if you dont have your router and INTERNAL DNS / domain name management configured correctly.
