Hello All

I have a custom google search engine that I want to use in my website.  I am using DNN 5.06.02 and on the menu bar I have a search text box with two option buttons; opt1 for web search and opt2 for site search.

Is it possible to change it so that when web search is used that it will refer to my custom search engine?  And if so, and easy enough, please could I have some step-by-step instructions or be directed to an article somewhere that explains how?

Thanks for looking at my question.

With regards
Jon

Jon, AFAIK the current search control does not support custom search engines (unless you have a search provider for it).

Thank you Sebastian.  Is it tricky to remove the search from the menu bar entirely?

Jon,

no, it isn't. Just modify your skin (remove the "Search" skin object) - et voilà.

If you only want to remove the "Web" option, add the attribute ShowWeb="false" to the Search object in your skin file (ascx).

Best wishes
Michael
