RIght, the solpart menu will be visible to admin only not to the end users.

Yes, both solpartmenu and nav read the same information, so if you hide from one, the same will happen on the other.
I guess the solution is either choosing a different menu, like the Telerik skinobject for DNN (http://dnnradmenu.codeplex.com/).

I suggest installing Advanced Control Panel from www.oliverhine.com, which will provide you with admin and host menu in the control panel (DNN 6 will follow this UX scheme). you may hide you admin and host menu from the menu bar, be aware, that DNN 5.6 (all versions) have an annoying bug, which requires you to update the database table tabs manually and remove portal ID for all host tabs, after you saved settings for any host tab.
