Here is the code I have for checking to see that when my Module loads it has all of the necessary Module Settings, and Personalization Settings present, for the Module and the currently logged in user:

    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {

        #region Check for Existing Module Settings and Personalization Settings
        try
        {
            // Make sure that the administrator has
            // set all necessary module settings.
            //
            // If not display an error to the user
            hasModuleSettings();

            // Make sure that the logged in user has
            // the necessary personalization settings.
            //
            // If they do not, display an error message instead of
            // the list of Projects and Active Issues.
            hasPersonalizationSettings();
        }
        catch (DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException loadException)
        {
            // IssueViewPanel ErrorMsgsPanel
            ErrorMsgsPanel.Visible = true;
            IssueViewPanel.Visible = false;

            lblError.Text = loadException.Message;

            // Proceed no further as without the correct Module settings and Personalization settings we cannot continue.
            return;
        }
     #endregion
      ...
      // Normal Module Display Stuff (non-error)

Is there a way to do this more elegantly? For instance having a method to override for checking both the Module and Personalization settings in the PortalModuleBase base class?

Thank you,
   Andrew J. Leer
