Any BLOG added to a CHILD portal is missing the icons/images for social networking sites (Facebook, etc.)  The icons show up fine on the parent portal, but not on any of its child portals.

The "Social Bookmarks" feature in the BLOG is not working correctly. The image files from the /DesktopModules/Blog/Images/... cannot not be accessed by the child portals. The URLs are mis-formed, and the Social Bookmarks icon images are not being shown.

Seriously? After all these years, the BLOG feature is still in this embrio state ???

Ugh, I just set up a blog and noticed the missing images.   Is there a work around?

I think I have a work around -   I viewed the properties on the missing image icons to find out where DNN was looking for them.  Then I recreated that path and placed copies of the image in that new location.  It looks like this will need to be done every time you add the blog module to a new portal.

Can you tell me where you put that folder with the images for the child portals?

Thanks.

Jill

Never mind.....it works if you put it under the portal name folder....and recreate the whole folder structure.     For those of you like me who didn't know that right off the bat....right click on the missing image, see what the path is.  Use your FTP program to go to the portal folders, and locate the child folder (it will only have one file in it named default.aspx.    In that folder, create the subfolders that mimic the path that the blog module is looking for, upload the images to that folder and refresh.

You can download the images from the folder Desktop/blog/sharedbadge/images under the parent folder.
