Hi,

I just deployed my application from QA environment to a Production environment (both server 2003).

I added the portal alias and when I try to access the app on Prod, I get the following error

DotNetNuke Error - Windows Server 2003 - Return to Site

The return to site button doesnt do anything.

Anyone ones what the issue might be? Could it be something to do with not being able to access the DB because of a firewall issue or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Try going to http://URL/install/install.aspx and see if it gives you a detailed message. It will likely tell you something about a database connection issue

Hi.

There might be firewall problems, allthough "normally" the windows-internal FW is not enabled on a windows server. But what is normal......

And, most of the times, it is a difference in the authentication mode between DNN and SQL. Check what kind of authentication is "allowed" on your DB-Server. Is it windows-logon or only internal login? Best is Mixed Mode.

At least this fixed all the connection problems i had in the past.
