Yesterday I tried to upgrade 4.03.00 to 4.03.03. Everything was fine until the last step. Then I got this error:

Error loading files from temporary folder - see below

ExceptionSystem.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeyNotFoundException() at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key) at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.GetSubscribers(String eventName) at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.SendMessage(EventMessage message, String eventName) at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.ModuleInstaller.Commit() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Commit() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Install() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.InstallPackages() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.Install()

I left the page (maybe sooner than I should have) and now when I look at an existing gallery all I see is:
There is no configuration for this gallery!

Any suggestions as to how to recover from this failure would be appreciated! Restore from backup? (Which folders?) Install the source file and build it in Visual Studio? Delete the module (won't that destroy any existing galleries)?

Thanks!

I've seen that error before with other modules which implement the IUpgradable interface. It is caused by a corrupted or missing section in the file \Portals\_default\EventQueue\EventQueue.config. I suspect that if you tried to upgrade or install other modules you would encounter the same error. It can be resolved by deleting the aforementioned EventQueue.config file. It will be automatically re-created when needed during a module install.

Once you have corrected the problem with EventQueue.config, you should be able to re-install Gallery 4.03.03 as a repair install. You may also need to reset (using the Gallery Configuration option in the module's action menu) the Gallery's Root URL so that it points to the Gallery/<ModuleID>/ folder of the existing module.

Worked like a charm! Didn't even have to re-configure the gallery.
Thanks, Bill.

BTW - you may be interested to know that what instigated this upgrade was that the Gallery module started telling me that .zip was an unacceptable upload file type. Turns out that there are issues with 7Zip for Windows 7. I was playing around and changed the "Number of CPU threads" setting from the default of 8 to 1 and suddenly my .zip file was acceptable. Go figure...
