Hi There,

I hit a problem Friday and I've been trying to solve it all weekend with no joy.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

I temporarily attached a site's database to studio manager to do some work and when I detached it; the site kept going straight to the install page.

Nothing I do makes any difference.  So the question is - why has this happened when the DB is no longer attached to Studio Manager and how can I fix it?

 1 Server is SQL Express

 2 There is both an SQLEXPRESS and default instance

 3 I did try changing the connection string (which didnt work); but I'd rather just connect via the file option anyway

Typically this site is due to go up any day and I've tried everything I can think of.

Thanks for that.  Looked at it but still dont seem able to connect.  Will try again.

However - do we know why once attached it stops working even when detached?



That doesn't seem to make any sense.



The connection string hasn't changed - I.E. still a database file rather than a SQL engine connection.

you need to detach database from your server if you want to use it using a file based connection string.
