Dear Colleagues!

We are glad to announce Users Importer for DotNetNuke. It is free and Open Source. Project locates at the CodePlex and will be available at the DotNetNuke Extensions Forge soon. Also Source Code is available at the CodePlex.

This module allows to import users to DotNetNuke from Excel file. This is simple and fast way to create your users accounts in one click.

It is very often situation when Administrator needs to create a lot users accounts. Creation one-by-one is not good idea because can take a lot of time. This is why Our Team has made this simple and easy module for DotNetNuke.

Users Importer allows to import users from the simple Excel file. In this file you can provide fields for import:

  • AffiliateId
  • Email
  • FirstName
  • IsSuperUser
  • LastName
  • Username
  • Password
  • Country
  • Street
  • City
  • Region
  • PostalCode
  • Unit
  • Telephone

Once file is ready, then you can select it and click "Start Import". Process of importing is very fast. At the end of process you should receive Log about Total number of users for import, Number of success imported users and about errors happened during import process.

Hope this module saves time for our Colleagues from DotNetNuke community!

I've tested this with DNN 5.6.2 and users were successfully imported.
I also then used the DNN to YAF User importer (1.9.5.5) which was also successful.

The user will be required to change their password upon registration.

I really appreciate this.

I was curious, would it be difficult to include registration date within this module? I ask because many of my members/users take pride in how long they have been with the site.

I was thinking something like this could be added?

objUser.RegistrationDate = (dr["RegistrationDate"].ToString() == "") ? DateTime.Now() : dr["RegistrationDate"].ToString();

I'm at work and the DotNetNuke and Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data references are failing so I can't compile it and check the members of the object to see if that would work.

Kevin

For DotNetNuke and ApplicationBlocks you should add references path, then will be fine. Its very easy.

Ha, it was easy to add them ... after I stopped trying to reference the Source package and went to the Install package.

I'll see if I can get the registration date added to it.
