I've recently taken over a forum based website that was updated to Community edition 5.6.1 and the core forum module 5.01 just before it took over.

Posting images is a large part of the community interaction, and I'm trying to rresolve a couple of image posting issues..

Post Inline
Prior to the upgrade, most members would use the "Attachment" and "Post Inline" method to upload and post images from their local har drives rather than using web ijmage hosts. The Post Inline option doesn't seem to be available since the update and quite a few of the members have  asked if it can be made available again.  I can't find a switchable option anywhere.  Was post inline removed in the newer version?

I have suggested that as an alternative members just copy image files from their hard drive and paste into their posts. While simple to use, this approch creates some sort of data image file with an atronomically long system generated file name, and it seems to adversely affect page load times.

Image Sizes
Large images are not being automatically resized to fit within the forum page boundaries. These images cause havoc with the page formating and can lead to the Reply, Quote, Edit buttons being pushed beyond the pages right bounday where they are no longer visib;e or accessible.  Is there any way that image widths can be automatically resized by the foftware without requiring action by the poster?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards, Rob B

Check forum Admin> Control Panel > Attachments, make sure that Enable File Attachment: is ticked.

Thanks Pingle.  The control Panel settings are ok. We haven't had any problem with including attachments - its just that the option to Post Inline is no longer offered when an attachment is uploaded.
cheers, Robbie

Simply you can't do anymore what you say. 1 & 2.

And since the current module is discontinued, don't wait for help. A new module will be replacing the current and i have no idea how it handles images inline or attached.
