Hi,

I am new to DNN and am trying to setup a DNN site for my school. The site is being hosted on a dedicated server placed inside my school. Here is the server configuration:

  • IBM x3650 M2
  • Intel Xeon E5530
  • 8GB RAM
  • Windows server 2003 Enterprise SP2
  • MS SQL Server 2005 Enterprise SP1
  • 3x500GB HDD in RAID5
  • DNN 05.06.02
SQL Server 2005 is running on this server. The server is hosting nothing else but this DNN site. I am experiencing 2 major problems:

  1. Refresh pages takes forever: Sometimes refresh is even timed out but if you enter the address of the page on the URL bar in your browser and hit enter, the page loads right away.
  2. Site keeps showing content in the cached, not updated content when modifying page names: I have to make changes to the page structure but it doesn't show right away. Some changes only take effect after few browsing, some never show up at all. I played with the Cache Settings from Light  to Heavy without any hope. Putting this setting to None somewhat fixes this problem but then the site becomes extremely sluggish
Anyone got any idea what might be the sources of these problems?

Thanks
Suxipo

Check for errors in Admin->EventLogs
Maybe there is a problem with some module.
Can you paste your site url ?

there seem to be a caching issue, how are caching settings inside DNN and on the server?
is there a (maybe caching) proy setup in between the web server and the internet?

Cheers from Germany,

Thanks for your suggestion. The Eventlogs show nothing wrong and I am not allowed to publicize the URL until it's finally ready. Sorry about that
