Hi,

I uploaded a skin file and it somehow managed to stuff everything up. Now when i go to the portal I get a 'The resource cannot be found' error. The top of the URL reads:

Default.aspx?tabid=69&error=The+Controls+collection+cannot+be+modified+because+the+control+contains+code+blocks+(i.e.+%3c%25+...+%25%3e).&content=0

I can appreciate that i may have done something wrong in the zip file, but surely it shouldnt throw the whole application. I cant get back into the dot net nuke website at all.

Has anybody had any experience with this same problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am using 4.03

Thanks.

You can find the most common reason for this problem here:

http://blogs.snapsis.com/PermaLink,guid,381f9036-432e-468c-bc2e-b52ab86f12ea.aspx

To get back in, you just need to rename or delete the skin folder, and DNN will fallback to the default skin.

To keep this from happening again you can use the preview link on your skin before actually applying it.

Hi and thanks for your reply. The thing is i did not use any ascx files in my skin. i created it using strictly html so that particualr post does not seem to apply. Below is the code i used in the main skin file:

[CONTENTPANE:1]

[CONTENTPANE:2]

[CONTENTPANE:3]

i had a reference to a style sheet in the skin.htm file. I took that out and it works.

Thanks

Sorry, it looks like the forum gobbled up your html.

You were using <%= SkinPath %> to reference your Stylesheet, and it was inside a tag marked runat="server"?
