Hi!
Any tips on how to begin to understand localization?
I need to be able to switch between languages. Also id like to understand how to change the words for a language. To create my own language pack.

Thanks!

please be aware that there are 3 parts of localization:
- localization of captions, help texts etc (static localization), which is supported since DNN 3.0 using language packs
- localization of content, which is implemented using multilingugal 3rd party modules since DNN 3.x or by using core "content localization" feature in DNN 5.5 and later
- some items falling in between, which currently aren't localizable (Lists, role names etc.)
Can you describe your use case?

Cheers from Germany,

Thanks again for a fast reply. Both of the two first you mentioned are useful to me. But right now the first one is the most important mainly cause

1 I tried to install Swedish language on a site. It worked but as a result the teleric editor has no tooltips which makes it hard to work with. Also the editors HTML link button is missing. So I wanted to figure out how to repair it.

2 how do I go about to change language to a non English.

3 how do I go about to make multiple languages selectable?

1) if RAD Editor has no translation, it might be a Telerik issue, please check telerik.com
2) you need to add another language pack and may switch portal default language in Admin :: Languages as well as in each user's profile
3) you need to use a Skin with LANGUAGE skin object included.
