I just switched to "apply" on the site skin (using default dnn skin) and now i get this:

An error has occurred.

I'm not quite clear.

Were you setting a new skin? Or changing back to the Minimal Extropy skin?

Where were you when you updated the settings? On the Admin/Skins page or the Admin/Site Settings page.

I was changing from the minimal extropy index_full skin to index. I was in the Admin/skins page.

i ended up going back in the database to change to : [G]Skins/MinimalExtropy/index full.ascx
recycled the app and its back up.  Is there a way to re-install the skin to make sure the tables are mapped correctly/etc?

If you have the INSTALL package of DNN downloaded somewhere, in there is an INSTALL folder, and then you should find a SKINS folder. Minimal Extropy should be in there as a ZIP file. You could upload that ZIP file again from the host/extensions page to try to reinstall it.
