I am trying to setup the simplearticle module, but I get stuck on the taxonomy part.

I have created a dictionary article categories. I have created a term categories and under that 4 subcategories: Term1, Term2, Term3, Term 4. Saved everything.

When I go in the page settings of my home page and look into the tags dropdown, I am now supposed to see the newly defined terms, no? Well, all I see is tags. No trace of my new vocabulary. Not in any page settings, not in any module settings. But the dictionary is there in Admin->Taxonomy and I can modify and save.

Is there something I'm overlooking? Somewhere a setting that says what dictionary to use? Something to enable?

This one ir really holding my development up. I've decided to create my own news module, loosely modelled after the announcements module but with some characteristics that give it a very distinct functionality.  News Items consist of a summary and a content, have inage source and thumbnailsource, and are linked to a portal instead of to a module.

What is displayed inside a module depends on the taxonomy settings for that module and a few more module settings (like show items 22 to 41 of the selection), PublishDate and Expiredate. I like the idea of the section templates in the announcements module.

One more view to show the news article in detail inside a tab template (another module setting with the name of the template in the templates folder).

But I need to make that taxonomy working on the production site (or at least a copy of it). On a clean install, all works like in the video, even with another language as default language and DSL installed.

On the other hand, creating a new portal with only en-US active on a copy of my production database and after creating a dictionary, all I see in the Tags dropdown is --- Tags. The new dictionary is not there

I checked the taxonomy tables in the database, and all is there. I go back to taxonomy administration and I can edit. It is portal-wide and hierarchical and isSystem is False. I wonder what weight is intended for, but it is valued on 0 for all terms. I've tried changing it to 1 at no effect.

What else can I do? Install the source code over the website and find a good place to drop a breakpoint? I'm losing all my time on this while I should be producing the NewsDesk module. I've got the dataprovider and the uninstall and would like to code the business section now. I've done it before, I can do it again, and the idea behind this is quite simple actually.

The NewsDesk Application is advancing nicely. I've got the edit control working with a few user controls. A lot of the code comes from examples in DSL and from the announcements module. I now can start populating the NewsDesk database with news articles. This weekend, I've got my eye on the display of the data.

The "module view" will (hopefully) not be to difficult, I've already checked how this is solved in the announcements module and I think this is not too difficult to tweek to fit my purpose. The other part: the full tab view is not that easy to solve.

I need to populate an empty tab with a tab template and then fill that tab with data from my NewsDesk database. Inserting the data seems easy enough, but populating the tab with a tab template is still a mysterious operation.

I'll publish the source when finished

I am sure, the vast DNN library contains a function to do just that. Suggestions appreciated.
