I was having an issue with a site where there was some erroneous links in the search index.  Re-indexing through the Search admin or the Scheduler would not get rid of the erroneous links.

I took a local host version duplicate of the site and deleted the contents of the table "searchItems".  ~1400 rows were deleted.  I then reindexed the site using the search admin.  It took about a minute but then I had about 1100 rows of data.  I checked the search function and it was working normally with the erroneous links now gone.  I then did the exact same thing on the production server and I now only get about 600 rows of data and search is not picking up some of the content on the site.  It is taking substantially longer no doubt because of production server loads, etc.

Anyway Is there a way I can force this thing to COMPLETELY reindex until done with no regard to timeouts, etc?
