I've volunteered to put a site together for my son's High School Choir/Drama department. I don't need to blow away their existing site until late July. I have a hosting account with GoDaddy as they do. I'd like to develop the new site on my hosting account then move it to their's when we're done. Any input from anyone having done this before would be greatly appreciated.

Will it be as simple as copying the site with a Filezilla-like tool and doing a backup/restore of the database? Thankss

I have done this with several sites, and yes, that is basicly what you need to do.

Get a good backup of all folders
Get a good backup of the database

Make sure that the new site has the appropriate version of the.NET framework and that all the permissions set. (the ASP.NET identity needs to have FULL Read, write and delete permissions for the new site)
