zip up your entire DNN installation web files

ftp them to the remote server

unzip them in the correct location

modify the web.config file to have proper connection string (two places)

you may need to ensure that proper permissions are reset from the top folder down through all child objects (folders/files)

When you said "page content" I was thinking file system ... but of course much page content is on the database.

Take a backup of your local database

ftp it to your remote server

create a database on the remote server

do a restore over that database from the backup you uploaded, ensuring that on the options you are forcing an overwrite of the database

you will have to create an sql login, and give it dbo privs on the database, or actually map it to the dbo user on the database; and use this user and its pwd in your connection string in the web.config

these are both very sparse directions but they cover all of the necessary actions.

As far as copying database file from one location to another, this is one of a handful of methods. It's easy enough. Just know that when you move a database from one server to another, the users internal to the database no longer map to a login, even if you use the same name in a new login. They really match by an internal SID, not the name. So you have to set up your login and database user and permissions anew on the remote server, and then use this user to connect from your web.config. hth

there are also a few more user-friendly turorials out on the net which you may find helpful. Bing'em ...

If you are about to deploy your database to a web hosting company stay away from Godaddy, as they won't help you to publish your database. Instead you can go with Hostgator. Just upload your database back up file to your FTP and tell them to restore your database via a support ticket. Your site will be online quickly. You can also use MNNDISCOUNT25 or HOSTMYDOTNETNUKE promo codes while purchasing dotnetnuke hosting from Hostgator.

Personally recommend Hostgator for hosting single or multiple DotNetNuke Websites.
