The DNN installer seems a little vague regarding the actions it is performing.
All I get currently is:

Installing Database - Version 06.00.00...Success
Installation of Database Complete

With no mention of the actions that are happening - install of SKIN, install of MODULES, Install of PROVIDERS etc

This seems somewhat out of place.

This is the database installation screen. It will only record the SQL DataProvider script output which is what you see.. Version 6.0.0.

Hmm ok - i guess i assumed that the installation of the other modules that are in the default install
 - HTML for example would be running their own SQL install scripts which would have appeared here as well.
Are u saying that they are wrapped into the 6.0.0 install script.

no, the 6.0 release contains a "roll-up script" which is why you only see 1 line of database feedback (i.e. it doesn't have to run multiple scripts). The html module and all other selected modules are installed later in the process and never gave any feedback except if they failed. Perhaps you're thinking about Auto install which does do core database installs followed by module installs all on the same screen.
