FYI in 6.0 we are changing to a different version of the the telerik provider in 6.0 (based on the http://radeditor.codeplex.com/ with some fixes/enhancements) - note: we don't change the default editor easily as it is used so much that any change can confuse users, so whilst ckeditor is nice, the telerik editor has been standard for some time so we're sticking with it.

I just ran into exactly the same problem on a 5.x DNN installation using Internet Expolorer 9. Everything works fine with IE8 and FireFox, but freezes up when using IE9. Can this be permanently solved for DNN 4.x and 5.x installations without upgrading to DNN 6.x ? Sometimes that's NOT an option, since a lot of existing skins and modules don't work in 6.x

Hoping to fix the problem by version upgrade from 5.6.2 to 5.6.4 I ran the upgrade, which went fine EXCEPT this error:

Installing Package File HTML_Community_05.06.04_Install:  Error!

and the IE9 problem is STILL there... One weird thing after upgrade - the "DotNetNuke Fck Html Editor Provider" seems to have the oldest version number on the list - 2.0.4 - everything else in the Providers list shows versions 5.0.0 to 5.6.4

PLEASE HELP??!!

This problem remains after upgrading to 5.6.4 -- but it seems to be SKIN-DEPENDANT.  It works fine with some skins, but doesn't work with others running on the same DNN 5.6.4 installation.  All problems are with IE9 browser only -- other browsers and IE versions work as well.

SelfNet, if you are still running FCKEditor (see your web.config), please upgrade to CKEditor provider (dnnckeditor.codeplex.com).
