I need a blog module that will allow subscriptions. By that I mean I need to be able to have users of my site be able to subscribe to my blog and be able to be notified via email etc. when a blog entry is added or updated. From what I can tell the current blog release does not provide this functionality. Can someone recommend a reasonable solution (reasonably priced third party module ?) until this functionality can be added to the existing blog module.

This does not sound like a blog to me.

You could get (most of) the functionality you want with an Announcement forum using the standard forum's module.

Hi,
You could publish your feed with feedburner. They have an email subscription form you can put on your site.
Thanks

We do something similar with a combination of the calendar module and Onyak.com Axon.
The Axon module allows users to subscribe to content based on criteria that we specify via predefined sql queries in the Axon module.  As new content is added which relates to a users subscription the module checks regularly for that content and then sends them an email. (template version)

It works well for us and I am sure you could do the same with the blog module.
